Nintendo has announced a partnership with Wayport who provides WiFi for McDonalds. So now you’ll be able to play your DS online from McDonalds. I also like the fact that Nintendo’s online support is free as opposed to Xbox Live.

MySpace Worm
This is a step-by-step guide by “Samy”, the guy who created a MySpace Javascript worm that quickly made him the most popular guy around. This probably isn’t going to mean much to most people, but it’s pretty interesting how he got around all these hurdles. Basically, he created a worm so that anyone who viewed his profile would add him as a friend (and hero) without knowing it. Than anyone who viewed that person’s profile would add him as a friend (and hero) as well. The original story goes into more detail.
It’s official. I’m popular.
I have hit 1,000,000+ users. In less than 20 hours, I’ve hit over 1/35th of all myspace users.
As someone who’s worked with this stuff before, it’s pretty incredible how he accomplished it.
Slashdot is Losing Its Edge
For some strange reason, this makes me very happy. Seriously, I’m grinning right now.
I’ve never really cared for /. much. Digg.com is quickly reaching Slashdot when comparing daily visitors according to Alexa’s Traffic Rankings. Slashdot isn’t as cutting edge as it used to be: stories get barely 200 replies. Maybe their new CSS update was too little, too late.
Revolution Overview
This is a nice overview from 1up.com detailing everything known about the Revolution and what it will mean for the next-gen of gaming.
Edit: One thing I didn’t already know – the next Smash Brothers will have online support, which likely means other popular games (at the least) will follow.
Apple’s REAL plan for iPod Video
This article is most likely wild speculation, but it’s very interesting speculation nonetheless. I suspect the part about iPod torrents will actually happen.
Edit: iPod formatted torrents have indeed hit torrent search sites.
How Nintendo Revolution Works
Here’s a little incite on how the upcoming Nintendo Revolution works. The article includes an overview of the console itself as-well as it’s unique and revolutionary gaming controller. This is a pretty good high level view of what the control is supposed to do.
I was surprised by the comparison in power to the Xbox 360. Everyone is talking about how Nintendo isn’t a part of the power war that Sony and Microsoft are taking part in, but it sounds like Revolution might not be as far off the mark as many people think. I’ve read that PS3 and 360 aren’t really going to live up to their full potential anyway. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re rushing the product to make it available sooner. I heard today that they’re scaling back the multiplayer in Perfect Dark Zero so it can be ready for 360’s launch in November. Not necessarily a smart move.
The thing I found most interesting was the comparison between the known Revolution specs and the GameCube. I’ve never had a problem with the Cube’s performance, but Revolution will simply blow it away. And a dedicated physics processor? That would only make sense with the new style of gameplay.
8 Bits to Go
Some guy made a portable NES comparable in size to the Game Boy Micro. Impressive.
Video
Everyone knew it was coming; now it’s here. Apple has introduced a new iPod with video support. I want to see one in person and then I’ll decide what I think about it. Still, a bigger screen and longer battery life sounds like improvement to me. I think it’s time to check it out and decide if I want to upgrade to the latest with video, or just a 4th gen with a color screen. Decisions.

Google GlobalNet
This is probably just wild speculation, but it’s interesting nonetheless.
First Down
You know the yellow first down line they project on the field when a football game is on TV? I’ve always had an idea how it works, but I didn’t realize it was this complicated.
